Medway Pride 2023 Volunteers

None of our events would happen without the help and support of our volunteers and stewards. You can do anything from an hour to a full day and we have shifts to suit everyone.  One-time opportunities happen at a fixed date and time. An example might be helping out at this year’s Pride celebration. Regular opportunities can be regular, long-term commitments and happen on different days and times.

Drivers

When: Sat, August 19th, 2023 from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm Rochester

Do you own a car or a van? We’re asking people to help out on the big day by picking up & delivering things as & when needed – equipment and stock items, even picking up certain guests from the train station. As you might imagine, you’ll need a full driver’s license to volunteer

Set-Up Support Crew

When: Friday 18th from 12pm to 5pm & Sat, August 19th, 2022 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am & Sun 20th 11am – 5pm Rochester High Street & Rochester Castle

Welcoming Our Traders

When: Sat, August 19th, 2023 from 8:00 am – 10:00am Rochester Castle

This position would require being at the main gate in the morning to help check-in our traders (alongside our security team), showing them to their pitches and answering any questions they may have. If this sounds like something you could assist with, please see the details above & get in touch,,

Pride Street March Marshals

When: Sat, August 19th, 2023 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pmWhere:  Rochester High Street & Rochester Castle

For this role, you’ll be the point of contact for each section of the Medway Pride March 2023. You’ll have the task of help to coordinate the entries and accompanying our friends & allies as we march from Star Hill – Rochester High Street to Rochester Castle Gardens. We’ll need people from 10:00-12:00.

General Helpers

When: Sat, August 19th, 2023 from 10:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Rochester Castle

We’re looking for some friendly faces to have in & around Medway Pride on the day to be able to answer questions, give directions and maybe do a bit of tiding as well. You’ll be at the coalface on the big day, so lots of smiles – with a free Pride T-Shirt included as well!

Welcoming Our Friends

When: Sat, August 19th, 2023 from 8am to 7pm Rochester Castle Gardens

We’re after some people to help welcome guests in at the main gate! This opportunity is a public facing role and your job would be to welcome in all of our ticketed friends, guest & allies to Medway Pride 2023. You may also have to escort our guests to the backstage area & meetings as needed

Cleanup Crew

When: Sat, August 19th, 2023 from12:00 pm – 9:00 pm & Sunday 20th 11am to 5pm at Rochester Castle Gardens

We nee some considerate people to help out during the day and after the event to take some things down, pack up equipment and do a spot of tidying as we don’t want the Gardens to be left a mess – this is no-one’s favourite job, but we would really appreciate the help!…
